Welcome to Causeway Laser Co. These Terms & Conditions explain how we operate, how orders are processed and what you can expect when purchasing from us.

Please read them before placing an order through our website.

1. About Us

Causeway Laser Co. is an independent business specialising in laser engraving, personalised gifts, home décor, signs and memorial products.

Our products are designed, engraved and carefully finished in our workshop in Coleraine, Northern Ireland.

2. Products & Personalisation

We offer a range of ready-made, personalised and bespoke products using materials including wood, MDF, slate, acrylic and granite.

We aim to represent our products accurately through photographs, descriptions and measurements.

As many items are individually made and finished, minor variations in natural materials, grain, texture and appearance may occur. These variations do not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty or not as described.

For personalised products, customers are responsible for checking the spelling, dates and other details they submit before completing their order.

We will take reasonable care to reproduce the personalisation provided. If we make an error, we will work to put it right in accordance with your statutory rights.

Where applicable, finished dimensions may vary depending on the personalisation requested. Specific sizing information is provided on individual product pages.

3. Placing an Order

Orders can be placed through our website or arranged directly with us for bespoke work.

By placing an order, you confirm that the information supplied is accurate and that you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

We will acknowledge your order electronically. An order is accepted when we confirm acceptance, at which point a contract is formed.

If we cannot fulfil an order, we will contact you and arrange a refund of any payment already received for that order.

If you need to amend an order, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate changes, although this may not always be possible, particularly once personalised production has begun.

4. Pricing & Payment

All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP).

Product prices and applicable delivery charges will be shown before you complete your purchase.

Payments made through our website are processed using secure third-party payment services, including Stripe.

Bespoke commissions may be quoted individually, depending on the materials, design requirements and work involved. Any additional charges will be agreed before proceeding.

5. Production Times

Many of our products are individually made to order, with care and attention given to each stage of production and finishing.

Please allow up to 14 working days for production from order confirmation and receipt of all necessary personalisation details.

Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding public and bank holidays in Northern Ireland.

We aim to complete orders sooner wherever possible, although turnaround times may vary depending on our workload and the complexity of the product.

Production times do not include delivery. Estimated delivery times will be provided separately.

Larger bespoke commissions may require additional time, which will be discussed and agreed before your order is accepted.

Should an unexpected delay arise, we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss the available options. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

6. Delivery & Local Collection

We currently offer standard delivery throughout the United Kingdom and free local collection from Coleraine, Northern Ireland.

Standard UK Delivery

A flat delivery charge of £7.00 applies per order where this option is available at checkout.

Please allow up to 14 working days for production of made-to-order products. Delivery times are additional. Any agreed delivery timeframe and your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Free Local Collection

Customers may choose free collection from Coleraine by prior arrangement.

Once your order is ready, we will contact you to arrange a convenient collection time and provide the collection details.

Please wait for confirmation before travelling to collect your order.

Delivery Issues

If your order arrives damaged, is missing or has not arrived within the agreed timeframe, please contact us at customersupport@causewaylaserco.com.

We remain responsible for your order until it is delivered to you or a person you have nominated to receive it, in accordance with applicable consumer law.

We use third-party delivery providers to fulfil orders. While we take reasonable care when preparing and dispatching products, occasional delivery delays may occur outside our direct control. If your order is delayed, lost or damaged in transit, please contact us and we will investigate the issue with the delivery provider and work towards an appropriate resolution. Your statutory rights regarding delivery, cancellation and refunds remain unaffected.

7. Cancellations & Personalised Orders

We understand that circumstances can change. If you need to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible.

Personalised & Bespoke Products

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, goods made to a customer's specifications or clearly personalised are generally exempt from the standard 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right.

This applies to items such as engraved names, personalised plaques, customised gifts and products manufactured to individual specifications.

We may be able to accommodate a cancellation or amendment where practical, but this is not guaranteed.

The personalised-goods exception does not affect your rights if an item is faulty, damaged or not as described.

Standard, Non-Personalised Products

Where the statutory cancellation right applies, customers may cancel their purchase without giving a reason from the time of ordering until 14 days after receiving the goods.

To exercise this right, please contact us by email within the cancellation period.

Customers must return the goods within 14 days of notifying us of cancellation. Unless otherwise agreed, customers are responsible for the direct cost of returning non-faulty goods under the change-of-mind cancellation right.

We will refund the purchase price and applicable standard outbound delivery charges in accordance with the law. Any additional amount paid for an upgraded delivery service is not refundable under the standard change-of-mind right.

Refunds will be made to the original payment method, generally within 14 days of receiving returned goods or evidence that they have been sent back, whichever is earlier.

8. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products

We take pride in our work and want every customer to be satisfied with their purchase.

If your product arrives damaged, is incorrectly personalised due to an error on our part, or does not meet the standards required by consumer law, please contact us.

Where possible, include your order number, a description of the problem and photographs to help us investigate.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

Consumers may have a short-term right to reject faulty goods within 30 days. Depending on the circumstances and timing, remedies may also include repair, replacement, a price reduction or refund.

Where goods fail to meet the required legal standards, we will provide an appropriate remedy and cover reasonable return costs where required by law.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your statutory consumer rights.

9. Product Care & Installation

Please follow any care, handling or installation instructions provided with your product.

Products intended for indoor decorative use should not be exposed to outdoor conditions unless specifically described as suitable.

Wall-mounted products must be installed using a suitable method for the product and surface, following the supplied instructions.

Decorative name plaques and signs are not toys and should be positioned safely, particularly in spaces used by young children.

If you are unsure whether a product is suitable for its intended location or use, please contact us before purchasing.

10. Customer-Supplied Designs & Intellectual Property

Customers requesting reproduction of photographs, logos, artwork or other protected designs must have the appropriate rights or permission for their intended use.

We reserve the right to decline requests that may infringe intellectual property rights or involve unlawful content.

Customers retain ownership of their original artwork and photographs. By supplying them for an order, customers give us permission to use them as reasonably necessary to complete that order.

We will not use customer-supplied personal photographs or memorial images for advertising without appropriate permission.

Unless otherwise stated, original designs, photographs, website content and branding created by Causeway Laser Co. remain our intellectual property or are used with permission from their respective owners.

11. Privacy & Personal Information

We collect and process customer information where necessary to manage enquiries, fulfil orders, arrange delivery and provide customer support.

Personal information is handled in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

12. Customer Service & Complaints

We aim to deal with enquiries and concerns fairly and promptly.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our business, products, services or applicable law.

Updated terms will be published on our website with a revised date.

Changes will not retrospectively alter the terms of an order already accepted unless agreed with the customer or required by law.

14. Applicable Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in Northern Ireland, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections that may apply to customers elsewhere.

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
